Visas/Passports

Useful Information

Travel Checklist

  • Do you have a valid passport?
  • Is your passport is valid for at least six months after your scheduled return to the Australia?
  • Have you have completed the ‘next of kin’ section in your passport?
  • Does the name on your travel documents exactly match the name on your passport?
  • Have you checked whether you require a visa to travel to Europe?

Passport Information

You will require a passport for travel to Europe, that is valid for at least six months after the date you intend to return to Australia.

Always keep a separate note of your passport number, place and date of issue, or preferably a photocopy of the back pages, packed separately from your passport. It is also recommended that you leave a copy with a friend at home and carry with you another form of identification (such as a driving licence). All of this will be useful if your passport is lost or stolen.

Visa Information

Visit https://smartraveller.gov.au for comprehensive travel advice. You will find current information on passport, visa and entry requirements for the country or countries to which you intend to travel, along with advice on money, local laws and customs.

Visit www.healthdirect.gov.au/travel-health-advice for travel health guidance, which includes information on travelling with medicine.

Visa costs are not generally included in our prices and may change without notice. Obtaining a visa is your responsibility, please do not leave your application until the last minute.

Important note on visas and the Schengen Area

During our Budapest to the Black Sea River Cruise, we visit Bulgaria and Croatia which are not part of the Schengen Area, and border controls are in operation upon entering and exiting the Schengen Area. Please check with the relevant country's tourism board to find out if you need a visa and/or any additional documentation for visiting these destinations.
